Customer Reviews for 28 years, Mexican Tile Renew Sarasota Fl

Travis J. St Pete, FL 1/25/2019:
Had a big problem with old Mexican tile in a house built in the 1950’s in St Pete Fl that just would not clean up whatever we did. Planned on having it all ripped out and replaced, it was so bad, but the cost for 1,200 sq feet would have been almost $8,500 and a big mess. I got a hold of Mexican Tile Renew in Sarasota, they came out and gave me a very fair price to strip clean and reseal all the old Mexican tile, I was amazed at how they got it all done in one day and the floors now look beautiful.

Luda S. Sarasota, FL 2/4/2020:
I wanted to thank Mexican Tile Renew for the great job they have done (inside and outside) the property. The owner of the company stayed on the job for the entire duration — five + hours and worked side by side with his helpers. The result was — magnificent cleaned up old, damaged tiles inside of the house. They also cleaned and renewed the outside pool deck. It looked great until the pool company came and ruined all that great work. The owner was gracious and came back to review the damage done by negligent pool company and fixed the problem by stripping and sealing the space again. I was on a deadline to finish the job and I cannot thank them enough. It’s a good idea to consult with them and see if you need to clean or prepare your space (floor) prior to their arrival. The sealer was clear and was dry within few hours. Thank you so much, Mexican Tile Renew Really, really appreciated it your hard work and advice.

Jim B. Sarasota, FL 3/15/2021:
I called Mexican Tile Renew to take care of a pool deck area that leads to a kitchen and laundry area in a house that had not been cleaned and sealed in many years. My wife and I took over a foreclosed home in the Gulf Gate area of Sarasota Fl and we needed to get the home ready for sale, as it stood, the Mexican Tile was a big distraction with old rubber pad stuck to the Mexican tile in areas of the kitchen where mats had been laying and the pool area tile was covered with black mold and all marked up. Bill and his crew from Mexican Tile Renew showed up at 8:30 am and proceeded to strip off all the old sealer, rubber padding and removed all the mold, they cleaned and put on 4 coats of a clear sealer that made the Mexican tiles come alive, very good job. We were able to sell the house within 10 days, thanks Mexican Tile Renew.

DO NOT USE RUBBER PADS UNDER AREA RUGS ON MEXICAN TILE: Under adverse conditions, after strong flooring strippers have been used, it may sometimes be necessary to hand sand old Mexican tiles that have black/white dots from a rubber pad embedded in the tile, an oscillating hand held sander is used and does not mark the tile with any circles. A simple sanding will take care of the problem seen above using a small oscillating sander, oscillating sanders are easy to control, you can use them to round edges, sand inside corners as well as smooth a flat or rough surface. If stain appears near the surface of sealed clay, gently try sanding away stain. Follow this step by cleaning and re-sealing with a sealer that will color enhance, see http://www.saltillotileconnection.com/care-and-maintenance/caring-for-it/ Mexican Tile Renew Port Charlotte to Sarasota To St Pete Fl.

‘Mexican Tile Renew’ Cleans and Seals Saltillo Floor Tiles Stain and Rejuvenate Color of the Tile and Grout to Like New Appearance

Sunday, September 9, 2024

‘Mexican Tile Renew’ Cleans and Seals Mexican/Saltillo Floor Tiles We Also Stain and Rejuvenate the Color of the Tile and Grout to Like New Appearance. Sarasota’s ‘Mexican Tile Renew’ can also remove old rubber pad from under an area rug stuck to the face of you Mexican/Saltillo tile.

Mexican/Saltillo tiles vary in color and shape, but the majority range from in varying hues of reds, oranges and yellows. Tiles are shaped either by pressing quarried clay with a wooden frame, or carving out the desired shape.

Mexican/Saltillo tile is a type of terra-cotta tile that originates in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. Saltillo-type tiles are now manufactured at many places in Mexico, and high-fire “Saltillo look” tiles, many from Italy, compete with the terra-cotta originals.

Depending on the raw tile’s placement among other tiles at the time of firing, its colour ranges from yellow to a rich orange. Saltillo tile is highly porous, and soaks in liquid easily. Unlike most ceramic tile, there is no glaze on the top surface of the tile. It is difficult to install as it absorbs water from the thin-set mortar, grout, grease pencils, etc. Once placed, it stains and scuffs easily if not properly sealed and maintained with a quality sealant.

Do not ever use acid of any kind to clean your Mexican Tile and grout, acids are corrosive they will ruin any applied finish and eventually break down the clay in the Mexican tile with disastrous results. So called floor cleaning products such as White Vinegar and Fabuloso contain Citric Acid, Fabuloso also contains Sulfuric Acid and Ether which will dissolve any applied finish to Mexican/Saltillo tiles.

‘MEXICAN TILE RENEW’ ACRYLIC SELAERS offers protection and beauty to unglazed Mexican paver tile and other porous terra cotta surfaces with fewer coats. A blend of the latest in acrylic polymer technology has been coupled with an antimar agent, U.V. inhibitors and a grease and oil blocker to become the perfect solution for sealing porous tile.
