The owner of the company stayed on the job for the entire duration — five + hours and worked side by side with his helpers. The result was — magnificent cleaned up old, damaged tiles inside of the house. They also cleaned and renewed the outside pool deck. It looked great until the pool company came and ruined all that great work. The owner was gracious and came back to review the damage done by negligent pool company and fixed the problem by stripping and sealing the space again. I was on a deadline to finish the job and I cannot thank them enough. It’s a good idea to consult with them and see if you need to clean or prepare your space (floor) prior to their arrival. FABULOSO CONTAINS ETHYLENE OXIDE, At room temperature, ethylene oxide is a flammable colorless gas with a sweet odor. It is used primarily to produce other chemicals, including antifreeze. In smaller amounts, ethylene oxide is used as a pesticide and a sterilizing agent. The ability of ethylene oxide to damage DNA makes it an effective sterilizing agent but also accounts for its cancer-causing activity.Prolonged use of Fabuloso on Mexican tile floors will cause the applied sealer to dissolve and promote bacteria growth in the unsealed clay tile, turning the Mexican tile black.

UPDATE Feb 8, 2023… ABC News FABULOSO RECALL: 4.9 million Fabuloso cleaning products recalled due to bacteria risk. A number of popular Fabuloso cleaning products were recalled Wednesday by the Colgate-Palmolive Company due to risk of bacteria contamination, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. About 4.9 million units — as well as about 56,000 units in Canada — of various Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner products were impacted by the recall, according to the CPSC.

The affected Fabuloso products were produced from Dec. 14, 2022 through Jan. 23, 2023, according to the company (NOTHING FROM PRIOR YEARS SO THEY SAY). “We are voluntarily recalling certain Fabuloso products because a preservative was not added at the intended levels during manufacturing,” Fabuloso said in a statement on its official recall website. “With inadequate preservative, there is a risk of bacteria growth in the recalled products. The recalled products can contain Pseudomonas species bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas fluorescens, which are environmental organisms found widely in soil and water.”What diseases are caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa? The most serious infections include malignant external otitis, endophthalmitis, endocarditis, meningitis, pneumonia, and septicemia. The likelihood of recovery from pseudomonas infection is related to the severity of the patient’s underlying disease process. Mexican Tile flooring and all other types clay tile should never have tape applied to them. Most times painters and remodeling contractors or flood restoration tradesmen don’t seem to be aware that any type of tape on Mexican tile or other clay tile can cause severe damage to the clay tile. The damage to the Mexican Tile is caused by the fact that the polymer in the tape and the polymer in the sealer are closely related. The close match creates a tremendous bond to the tile sealer. When the tape is pulled up the sealer is pulled up along with the tape. Even worse is that the Mexican tile sealer has a tremendous bond to the crust of the tile. When the sealer is pulled up it usually also lifts off the crust of the tile in the configuration of the straight edges of the tape. The tradesman who applies this tape to your Mexican tile is usually trying to protect your tile from damage during a painting or restoration process, however the end result is damage as opposed to protection. DO NOT USE RUBBER PADS UNDER AREA RUGS ON MEXICAN TILE: Under adverse conditions, after strong flooring strippers have been used, it may be necessary to sand Mexican tiles that have black or white dots from a rubber pad embedded in the tile.

‘Mexican Tile Renew’ will use an oscillating hand held sander that does not mark the tile with any circles. A simple sanding will take care of the problem seen above using a small oscillating sander.

Oscillating sanders are easy to control, you can use them to round edges, sand inside corners as well as smooth a flat or rough surface. If stain appears near the surface of sealed clay, gently try sanding away stain. Mexican tile Renew follows this step and by stripping and cleaning and we will re-seal with a sealer that will color enhance the tile.
